Monaco has finally decided to let go Edgar Salli. Yet he was one of the biggest hope of the French club on arrival, but was never convincing. After a series of loan to Lens in French second division, Academica Coimbra in Portugal and FC St. Gallen in Switzerland, the Cameroon international will add another championship to his portfolio, this time a Bundesliga 2 club.
Edgar Salli successfully completed medical examination and signed a contract with the club last thursday. After agreeing with Monaco who discharged his last year of contract he has chosen the German club. He will wear the famous number 7 shirt.
“We are happy that Edgar Salli opted for the club. He is a versatile offensive player and thereby gives us more possibilities,” says Andreas Bornemann, head of sports Nuremberg. “He brings a lot of speed with him and showed in the last season in St. Gallen, he can score as well provide that valuable last pass.”
“a step into German football is an exciting challenge for me. Nuremberg tried very hard to have me and I’m happy to be here. I hope to find my way here quickly and help the team soon, “said Edgar Salli.
