Bamenda Protest: Local Journalist Demonstrates In a Coffin

A Pidgin English Newscaster known as Mancho Bibixy of a Bamenda local base Radio Station, Abakwa FM has stormed the City Chemist Round-about with a coffin declaring he is ready to die. The firebrand anchor cum activist is denouncing the low state of development in the City, accusing the Government Delegate to the Bamenda City Council, Vincent Ndumu of not working to the benefit of the population.

He described poor state of roads and other social amenities which are rare to come by. Hundreds gathered at the City Chemist area as Mancho Bibixy stood in the newly acquired coffin placed on a parked vehicle. The spectators later joined him in a march towards the Head Office of the City Council at Mulang, they broke City Council gates as they angrily made their way inside chanting ‘Vincent Ndumu Must Go’ Shops along the road in Bamenda have been shut down, protesters have set tyres ablaze.

The Governor of the North West Region has called for crisis meeting at the residence of archbishop of Bamenda. Sources indicate Military helicopter hovering over City Chemist.
