This amount, explains the presidency of the Republic, is earmarked for the financing of the rehabilitation and extension project of the Reunification Stadium in Douala, as well as related infrastructure.

The Canadian company Sodevi is in charge of the work. In addition to the renovation of this stadium with a capacity of 40,000 places built in the framework of the 8th Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) which hosted Cameroon in 1972, Sodevi will also build a stadium and a multi-sports gymnasium still in Douala.

The reunification stadium, in the country’s economic capital, has been chosen as one of the Cameroonian infrastructures that will house CAN 2019 in June. The company in charge of this project was also selected to build four training grounds in Bafoussam, in the west of the country.
